FAQ

TECHNOLOGY

10X STRONGER THAN STEEL

Our 10XD™ super fabric is ultra-high-molecular-weight-polyethylene yarn (ten times stronger than steel per weight) blended into a fine nylon ripstop.

The dense and tactile finish repels dirt and water, keeping your wallet in like-new condition for years.

REINFORCED STITCHING & ELIMINATED SEAMS

High stress areas feature bar tack stitch clusters for endurance, wallet seams are prone to bursting so we have eliminated seams that would be impossible in a leather construction.

BREAKS IN, BUT NEVER BREAKS DOWN

FutureForm™ technology is the pliable core of our wallets giving them form and a leather-like hand feel.

Engineered to break in with use and time, but never break down as leather does.

SWEAT-PROOF AND WASHABLE

Soggy leather wallets weigh you down and fall apart. If you ride to work in the summer you know the feeling.

And if you throw your jeans in the wash without checking your pockets you are in the clear. Dirty wallet? Wash it off.

Way Too Fat

To be fair, nowhere does Pioneer Carry claim the Division or the 10x material is thin, slim or supple. That's good, because it definately is not. It looks and feels remarkably well-made, and extremely durable. The card slots are easy to use (you dont have to fight to get cards in or out). The fabric has a nice, subtle pattern to it. ...But the wallet is definately not slim. Its fat before you even put a card or bill in it...

And its stiff. It looks and feels slightly "plastic." I know it's supposed to break in... but I've been sitting on it and pulling out cards and bills for many weeks and it's still not exactly "soft."

I made the mistaken assumption that any hi-tech material would be slimmer and more flexible than you'd find, say, in my dad's old school leather wallet. Isn't that kind of the point? (Any material would be more durable if you just made it thicker and less flexible.) Well thats not the case with the Division in 10x. It's cutting edge material, but 1970's fat!

I went with the 10x material, since it was the "latest and greatest" and i liked the colors--its possible that the other materials would be a better choice.

BUT... I'm not sure that alone would be enough to make it work for me. It's not material alone the makes the wallet so fat... the design is a big factor. The spacing and design of the card slots, the way the material is layered, wrapped and/or stitched, particularly where the wallet folds. My previous wallet (leather) was the almost the same layout, but filled with exact same cards and number of bills, it is slimmer by a significant margin. It's the design, more than the fabric/material. They designed the wallet with fewer overlapping layers

I like Pioneer Carry, and what they are doing. (And they happen to be a local company--for me--which is nice.) If durability is your top priority, the Division 10x may be for you. I may try another PC wallet someday, but the Division wasn't right for me... its been relegated to a drawer, and I'm back to
my old (thin) wallet!

It's great but wish it had a clear window on one side for scanning a card
